Preserve America's Waterways is one of the most ambitious projects of its kind ever undertaken. With the help and support of national partners the Sea Scouts — BSA in cooperation with Venturing, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and other community based youth organizations have taken a challenge to give back 1 million community service hours preserving & protecting our nation's waterways.

On December 7, 1941, the United States Naval Base at Pearl Harbor was attacked. Japan’s attempt to destroy the Pacific Fleet and its defenders damaged or destroyed twelve U.S. warships and 188 aircraft. Now with 2.403 American servicemen and women and 68 civilians killed, America was at war. Over 100,000 SeaScouts answered the call to defend our nation - thousands more, too young to enlist, sold war bonds, collected materials, and watched our coasts.

 
The heroic Coast Watchers sculpture has been commissioned and will be placed at the National Boy Scout Museum in Irving, Texas to commemorate all those who selflessly served their country in World War II, and those who continue to serve today.
